I love illustration. Colored pencils are a wonderful and challenging medium for illustration work . The range of possibilities seems non-ending to me. After many years of experimenting with several art forms, I’m hooked on colored pencils. I hope you’ll enjoy the images on this web site as much as I enjoyed creating them.
I was born in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area shortly after high school graduation. My first home was in Daly City, CA. After several years of living in San Francisco I moved to Marin County. Sausalito, CA was my home for 14 years. In 1993 I moved to Sonoma County where I currently live.
After many years of employment as an office worker I returned to school and received a college degree in Interior Design/Architecture. This led to employment with Autodesk where I worked until downsizing lead into job training in web site design. Since that time I've actively pursued my art career.
I've been involved with art most of my life. I received an AA in Art from the College of Marin. I've worked in black and white photography, wheel pottery, tapestry and large loom weaving, textile silk screen, spinning, yarn dying as well as the required drawing and painting classes. Several years ago I discovered the colored pencil workshops that were offered at the Pt. Reyes Educational Center. With a set of 72 Prisma Colored Pencils that was purchased during my interior design training, I signed up for my first four day workshop in 1996. Since then I have attended two or three colored pencil workshops a year.
